At March 28, 2009 at exactly 8:30 to 9:30 in the evening, different countries in the world gave their "thumbs up" in supporting the Earth Hour.
Just this Monday, I started my on-job-training (ojt) at The Body Shop, Philippines. So generally, the Body Shop is where I buy my lotions - I love their lotions!!! You just got to try them but *ehem* so this Monday, Ruby and I had our official first day of work. I felt anxious at the same time uneasy with the fact that I may or may not do exactly as well as I hope I do so I kept murmuring silent prayers that somehow - SOMEHOW!!! I do something right and that I don't do anything to pull Ruby down!! T_T
So we had an orientation session with Ma'am Bhelle, the HR for the Recruitment section. She toured us around the whole floor, introducing us to different people whose names I no longer remember... there's a mighty lot of them! I have to assure you on that fact and two unprepared brains like mine and Ruby's couldn't exactly comprehend all those names plus we felt a bit awkward whether or not we should say "Hi" or a respectful "Good Morning" but nonetheless, we kept our smiles coming and maintained the composure that employees ought to have - in our case, practiciumers!
Btw, we have our own i.d.!!! Oh yeah, so we can come in and out of the building without care of others but I think we are supposed to surrender them by the end of our practicum so I'm going to take a million pictures of it as souvenir and also as proof of my internship at The Body Shop! Honestly, even if it's just my second day I can't help but feel all psyched up by everything!!! \m/ rock on people!! hahahaha!
Anyway, I was surprised that they actually have an every Monday prayer wherein they gather themselves in one big room and pray there - regardless of beliefs and religion, it is a matter that we all pray together for the company. Aww.. sweet, :) So they prayed and what's really cool is the fact that after the prayer, you get the chance to announce any good news or any additional informations that you want to share with everybody, that's why I found out about the Earth Hour, because of them.
One of The Body Shop's vision is for pro-environment movements... which I totally love! I am an environmentalist!!!! Oh yeah, I so love this OJT! :D So I'm still reading about the Earth Hour and I want to share to you what EARTH HOUR has that we must learn from and understand:
